One of my favorite times of the year is Easter. It is a time to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I can just imagine the excitement on that first Easter morning when those at the tomb heard these words, "He is not here. He has risen just as He said!" And then they saw Jesus. He was dead, but now alive. And because Jesus is alive all His promises are true. He promised that in Him was life, eternal abundant life. In Him was an eternal home in h

COLD! That is what my thermometer told me when I looked at it early Sunday morning. And the outlook was for more cold weather for the next several days as well…record cold temperatures for Oklahoma with windchills below 0. That is cold by my standard. As a kid I can remember trying to hurry time. Only three weeks after turning 8 I told everyone I was 8 1/2. Three months later I was almost 9. Remember those days? We couldn't wait to get older. Now we are approaching a new year and I wonder how time has moved so quickly and I am no longer 8 but almost 68.

As I think of time I remember a saying my Grandpa Berg had over his fireplace: To kill time, try working it to death!. For years I tried to figure out what that saying m

There was a popular movie not too long ago that introduced the phrase…’Houston, we have a problem…” into our lingo.  Today, I would like to change that phrase to – “Christians, we have a problem.”  The problem we have today is we do not know what to do with Jesus.  Most of us feel today we have moved beyond Jesus.  Even most Christians feel today there are many ways to heaven.  In other words, Jesus has been reduced to one of many ways to God.  If all else fails, we st
